The author was born in a small village in Europe (Croatia) in his early age he was a shepherd. When Nedo Smolic was just seven years old he experienced the horrors of World War II. At the end of the war he was 11 years old and started grade one at the elementary school. Nedo Smolic was born to a family of Catholic faith. At the age of fourteen, he had to leave home to search for a living. While learning to be a boat builder he became an atheist. He served in the navy (navy seals) and after his navy service he escaped from his communist country and lived and worked for three and half years as a refugee in Paris, France. However, for most of his life he was a self-employed commercial salmon fisherman, along the British Columbia coast.
Nedo Smolic, with his wife Neda, immigrated to Canada in 1961 and worked as a steel fabricator until he had an industrial accident in 1970. This accident changed his life and at the same time an invisible power created a desire in him to search and to know what God is. The same invisible power compelled him to write these books, even though he is a man without formal education and lacks knowledge of the English language.
For him to accomplish writing these books would have been impossible without help from Apollo, who led Smolic to write these books in his own words, as he understands it. Nedo Smolic is the father of three children all university educated. Now he is retired and lives with his wife in a small town close to the USA–Canada border.
